Lens enhancements at Spec-Savers are optional extras, but often worth considering. Each of the enhancements listed below helps to enhance your vision and protect your eyes.

Climate Eyes

Climate Eyes is Spec-Savers' premium variable tint lens. These are photochromic prescription lenses that change from dark to light and back again, depending on the surrounding light conditions. This affordable lens technology can protect your eyes from the sun's harmful UV rays without having to switch between prescription spectacles and prescription sunglasses.

Polarized Lenses

When we spend time outdoors, glare and reflections are literally all around us, even bouncing off particles in the air. Polarized Lenses do what no other lens or lens treatment can do and block blinding glare. By removing this unwanted glare and blocking 100% of harmful UVA and UVB light our vision is better, as Polarized Lenses improve colour contrast, visual comfort and acuity.

Anti-Glare Coating

Anti-Glare Coating is ideal for people who drive at night or spend a lot of time behind a bright computer screen. As the name suggests, it reduces night blindness from oncoming headlights and helps reduce strain on the eyes from a computer monitor.

Hard Coat

Accidents happen. Hard Coat is a clear, scratch-resistant coating that substantially reduces the risk of damage to lenses when mishandled or dropped. It's particularly good for children or people who are tough with their spectacles. It is applied to the front and back surface and helps extend the longevity of the lens.

UV Coat

Just as sunscreen keeps the sun's UV rays from harming your skin, UV Coat is a protective treatment for lenses that stops sun rays from damaging your eyes. This coating can help to reduce the risk of cataracts, retinal damage and other eye problems through overexposure to ultraviolet light. Regular lenses block most UV light, but adding a UV-blocking dye like UV Coat boosts UV protection up to 100% for added safety.
